Education Ministry Pledges Safe Water and Sanitation in Schools
The Ministry of Education has pledged to ensure that children across Ghana learn in safe, hygienic environments with access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities.

Speaking at the WASH in Schools Policy Dialogue and the launch of the 6th Child Sanitation Diplomat Campaign, Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak emphasized that quality education must go beyond classrooms to include essential hygiene services.

He noted that access to clean water, decent toilet facilities, and proper sanitation is critical to improving both the health and academic performance of students.

Dr. Apaak assured stakeholders that government will continue to prioritise water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure in school development projects nationwide.

He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving the wellbeing and learning conditions of students across Ghana through sustained investment in school sanitation systems.
