The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) is urging government to take immediate steps to resolve delays in the recruitment and posting of trained teachers, following confirmation that its petition has been forwarded to the Ministry of Education.

In a statement issued on April 28, TTAG said it received communication from the Office of the President dated April 21, 2026, indicating that its concerns had been referred to the Education Ministry for attention.

While welcoming the development, the Association insisted that the referral must result in swift and decisive action, warning that thousands of qualified teachers remain unemployed amid prolonged uncertainty.

TTAG described the situation as critical, noting that the delays are placing significant financial and emotional strain on affected graduates who continue to wait for postings.

The group said it has exhausted available engagement channels in good faith and is now preparing for further high-level discussions with both the President and the Minister for Education to push for clear timelines and firm commitments.

It cautioned that patience among teacher trainees is wearing thin and warned of possible further action if the delays continue.

TTAG reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for a fair and timely resolution, stressing the need to safeguard confidence in the country’s education recruitment system.
