Many students across various tertiary institutions have begun receiving funds under the “No School Fees Stress” initiative, however, a section of beneficiaries are still awaiting payment, raising concerns on campuses.
According to checks and reports from affected students, the delays are largely linked to errors in personal details, incomplete applications, and ongoing verification processes.
One of the key reasons identified is incorrect personal information submitted during application. Some students reportedly entered names, index numbers, or Ghana Card details that do not match institutional records, making verification difficult.
Another common issue is incorrect or mismatched mobile money numbers. In some cases, students used wrong numbers or SIM cards not registered in their names, which has prevented successful disbursement of funds.
Incomplete applications have also contributed to the delay, as some students failed to complete all required steps during registration, leaving their applications pending in the system.
Additionally, officials indicate that verification processes are still ongoing due to the large volume of applicants, which has slowed down overall processing.
Technical challenges within the system have also been cited as a contributing factor affecting timely payments.
Students who are yet to receive their funds have been advised to revisit the application portal to confirm and correct their details, ensure their mobile money information is accurate and active, and complete any outstanding steps in their application.
They are also encouraged to seek assistance from their school’s Accounts Office or Student Affairs Office where necessary.
While the initiative continues to support many students, stakeholders are calling for clearer updates and improved processing systems to ensure all eligible beneficiaries receive their funds without unnecessary delays.
