KNUST School of Business Launches “KSB BazeBite” Restaurant to Bridge Theory and Practice
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Business (KSB) has officially launched “KSB BazeBite,” a restaurant facility designed to link business theory with practical experience while serving the university community.

Speaking at the launch, the Dean of KSB, Professor Ahmed Agyapong, explained that the initiative was inspired by leading business schools across Africa, where similar facilities provide both academic training and service delivery. He described BazeBite as a legacy project reflecting the School’s growth and a complement to KSB’s core mandate of teaching, research, and community service.

“This restaurant is going to serve as a teaching and training facility for our hospitality and tourism students,” Professor Agyapong said, adding that it will also create part-time work opportunities for needy students and generate income to support the School’s facilities.

Professor Felicity Asiedu-Appiah, Vice Dean and Chairperson of the Planning Committee, outlined the three main objectives of the project: providing an experiential learning platform, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing institutional sustainability. She explained that BazeBite, as a “living laboratory,” will allow students across various disciplines, including marketing, human resource management, hospitality management, and supply chain, to gain hands-on experience in customer service, operations, and business analytics.

The facility is also part of KSB’s 20th anniversary legacy projects, aimed at creating value-generating, student-centered, and industry-relevant initiatives.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Asamoah, commended KSB for leading the “One Department, One Start-up” initiative and encouraged other departments to emulate the School’s efforts. He urged the School to leverage its expertise to manage and expand similar ventures across campus.

Professor Charles Marfo, Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, praised the commitment of the KSB team and encouraged them to build on the foundation laid with BazeBite.

The launch of BazeBite underscores KSB’s commitment to experiential learning, entrepreneurship, and institutional sustainability, providing students with practical exposure while meeting the needs of the university community.
