Glikpome Basic School Headteacher Found Dead at Guest House in Akatsi

A 44-year-old headteacher of Glikpome Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region has been found dead at a guest house under circumstances that remain unclear.

The deceased, Selorm Kwaku Tettey, popularly known as "TK," was reportedly found lying motionless on a bed at the guest house at about 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 7th July 2026.

According to reports, the cause of death has not yet been established, and investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have also dismissed claims circulating on social media that the deceased checked into the guest house with a female student. Reports indicate that he checked in with another adult.

The incident has left the Glikpome Basic School community and residents of the Akatsi South Municipality in shock, with many paying tribute to the late headteacher as investigations continue.
