The University of Ghana (UG) has reminded students that the university email system remains the primary and official channel for all institutional communication.
In a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar on May 25, 2026, management emphasised that all official messages sent to students’ assigned university email addresses will be considered duly received.
The university stated that students are responsible for activating and regularly monitoring their email accounts to ensure they do not miss important updates. It also urged students to maintain functional mailboxes with sufficient storage space.
UG further warned that failure to check or access official emails will not be accepted as a valid excuse for missing important information, stressing that students who neglect this responsibility do so at their own risk.
Students experiencing difficulties with their accounts have been advised to seek assistance from the university’s Information Technology Directorate.
