Scholarship Overview
The Hulede Foundation Scholarship is a one-year financial support scheme established to assist brilliant but needy students to pursue their university education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The scholarship is targeted at continuing regular undergraduate students who demonstrate strong academic performance and genuine financial need. The support is awarded for one academic year and is intended to reduce the financial burden on deserving students while encouraging community service and social responsibility.

This scholarship is open to continuing Ghanaian students studying at KNUST and enrolled in full-time regular programmes. Applicants applying for the scholarship for the first time must have a Cumulative Weighted Average of 65 or higher. First-year students are not eligible to apply because their academic fees are covered under the No Fees Stress Policy. Final-year students applying for the scholarship for the first time are required to complete forty hours of community service and submit proof by the stated deadline. Such applicants must visit the Directorate of Student Affairs to collect a Hulede Foundation T-shirt, which must be worn during the community service exercise.
Students applying for renewal as former beneficiaries must meet additional community service requirements. Prospective final-year scholars must have completed a minimum of eighty hours of community service with evidence submitted, while all other continuing scholars must have completed at least forty hours of community service with proof.
All applicants are required to complete the application process online before submission. Applicants must visit the official Hulede Foundation website to access the scholarship application portal and complete the online application. Supporting documents must be prepared and submitted as part of the application process. Required documents include an endorsed academic transcript, a one-page statement explaining financial need and why the applicant should be considered for the scholarship, at least two recommendation letters, and any additional awards or certificates if available. Applicants are encouraged to follow the Hulede Foundation on social media, as this may be considered during assessment. All written submissions must be typed using Times New Roman font, size 12, and double-spaced. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.
