KNUST Launches SONSOL Project 2024/2025 to Support Needy Students with Laptops
Kumasi, Ghana – The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced the SONSOL Project 2024/2025, aimed at supporting needy first-year students with laptops. Organized by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the Directorate of Student Affairs, the initiative targets Ghanaian students at KNUST’s main and Obuasi campuses who are first-year undergraduates or Master’s postgraduates with a WASSCE aggregate of 15 or better. Applicants must not be beneficiaries of scholarships exceeding GHS 2,000.
Required documents include a one-page proof of need, admission and acceptance letters, WASSCE certificate/results, and, for postgraduates, a first-degree certificate. Submissions must be made in a sealed envelope, including the applicant’s name, program, year, reference number, and phone number, to Room 19, Student Support & Financial Services, J. Harper Building. Documents should be typed in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 spacing. Only the first 50 postgraduate applications will be considered, and late submissions will not be accepted.
The application deadline is Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Interested students can apply via the KNUST website (knust.edu.gh) or by scanning the QR code on the announcement.
