Adu Boahen Memorial Library and Archive Marks Two Years of Historical Excellence and Inspiration
The Adu Boahen Memorial Library and Archive (ABMLA), based at the University of Ghana’s Department of History, is celebrating its second anniversary. Dedicated to preserving Ghana’s history and honouring Professor Emeritus Albert Adu Boahen, the ABMLA has become a hub for academic research and historical appreciation.

To mark the occasion, and the 19th anniversary of Professor Boahen’s passing, a week-long exhibition titled “The Life and Works of Prof. Emeritus Albert Adu Boahen” will run from May 26 to May 30, 2025. It will feature rare documents, photos, and publications showcasing Boahen’s academic and political legacy. A memorial lecture is also planned, with details to be announced.

The University invites the public to engage with the exhibition and support the ongoing work of preserving Ghana’s historical and intellectual heritage.
