Take Science, Technology Seriously - Prof. Frimpong-Boateng
At the 10th anniversary of UCC’s College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, former Minister Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng stressed that Africa’s development depends on investing in science and technology. He described the poverty gap as a “technology gap” and urged governments to empower research institutions to solve national challenges. He highlighted projects like a 400KW hybrid power plant and the STI Fund as examples of innovation with wide benefits.

Dr. Rodrigue Pelebe of ACECoR spoke on the blue economy, emphasizing its potential to boost sustainable growth in Africa through industries like fisheries, tourism, and renewable energy. He linked it to achieving key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as food security, climate action, and marine conservation.
