KNUST School Of Veterinary Medicine Holds 10th White Coat Ceremony
The School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) at KNUST inducted 69 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students into their clinical training phase during the 10th White Coat Ceremony at the university’s Great Hall.

Prof. Benjamin Emikpe, Dean of SVM, led the symbolic gowning and announced the launch of six new postgraduate programmes in veterinary medicine — the first in Ghana. He emphasized the need for “One Health” professionals to combat zoonotic diseases like monkeypox and praised the school’s growing regional reputation.

Prof. David Asamoah, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and other speakers called for support to complete the KNUST Veterinary Hospital and urged students to train with integrity and compassion.

Keynote speaker Dr. Andy Quarcoopome encouraged resilience and pledged long-term support to the School. Guest speaker Dr. Patrick Amponsah urged students to remain curious, humble, and committed to lifelong learning, while Prof. Christian Agyare emphasized the importance of combining technical skills with ethical practice.
