KNUST Mastercard Foundation Scholars Mark 10 Years With School Infrastructure Projects In Ayigya
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme (MCFSP) at KNUST, scholars commissioned key infrastructure projects at Ayigya Basic School. The upgrades include a perimeter wall, renovated classrooms, a mechanised borehole, modern toilet facilities, and a 60-seater ICT laboratory. These enhancements aim to improve safety, hygiene, access to clean water, and digital literacy.
The projects are part of the programme’s community service component and align with the anniversary theme, “Celebrating a Decade of Transformation and Impacting Lives.”
Key stakeholders—including school authorities, local government, traditional leaders, and Mastercard Foundation President Reeta Roy—commended the initiative for its educational and community impact. KNUST representatives reiterated the university’s commitment to community development, while scholars also donated learning materials to the students.
