UDS Hosts Northern Launch of Nationwide Tree Planting Drive as Part of “Make Ghana Green Month”
The University for Development Studies (UDS) has launched Ghana’s nationwide “Tree for Life” campaign under the “Make Ghana Green Month” initiative at its Tamale Campus. Led by the Forestry Commission, the campaign aims to plant millions of trees to combat climate change, restore degraded lands, and promote biodiversity. Speaking at the launch, the Northern Regional Minister stressed the urgent need for environmental action. UDS, known for its commitment to sustainability, pledged to maintain the planted trees through a dedicated care plan. The initiative aligns with Ghana’s climate goals and the UN SDGs, and encourages public participation by offering free seedlings to individuals and institutions.
