Alexander Tawiah ('22) Named Overall Top Student In Mass Communication At Texas State University
Alexander Tawiah, a 2022 KNUST History graduate, was named the Overall Top Student in the Master of Arts in Mass Communication at Texas State University, USA, and received the Outstanding Graduate Student award from the College of Fine Arts and Communication. From Denkyira Assuadei, Ghana, Tawiah founded Thriller News GH, a prominent student-run media platform at KNUST, mentoring over 20 student journalists and earning multiple awards, including Best Student Blogger (2021). At Texas State, he excelled as a graduate instructor, led digital media initiatives, and received the Dr. Ralph Harrel Graduate Scholar Award (2024). His research on social media in Ghana’s 2024 presidential campaigns won the Best Paper Award and will be presented at the 2025 AEJMC National Conference. Tawiah also launched InteractiveMediaSkills.com to train journalism students in digital media.
