Delegation from Sasakawa Africa Association calls on UCC Vice-Chancellor
A delegation from the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), led by Dr. Godwin Atser, visited the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to strengthen their long-standing partnership, especially in agricultural development and training. The team engaged with faculty from the School of Agriculture and the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension to evaluate ongoing projects, including Supervised Enterprise Projects (SEPs), and discussed a capacity-building workshop on regenerative agriculture.
Dr. Atser praised UCC’s commitment to the Sasakawa Africa Fund for Extension Education (SAFE) programme and announced the upcoming visit of Nippon Foundation President, Mr. Takeju Ogata, inviting UCC to a briefing with the Japanese Ambassador.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong reaffirmed UCC’s dedication to impactful research and innovation, emphasizing its top ranking in Ghana and West Africa. He also lauded the SAFE programme for producing top agricultural extension officers and fostering student entrepreneurship through initiatives like the Supervised Agribusiness Projects (SAPs) and the Design Thinking Hub (D-Hub).
