Delegation from Sasakawa Africa Association calls on UCC Vice-Chancellor
A delegation from the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), led by Country Director Dr. Godwin Atser and Dr. Anjolaoluwa Ore Fadairo, visited the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to strengthen their long-standing partnership, particularly in agricultural development and training.

Key highlights of the visit include:
• Discussions focused on expanding joint initiatives, such as regenerative agriculture workshops and enhancing the Supervised Enterprise Projects (SEPs).
• Dr. Atser praised UCC’s impact in agriculture through the Sasakawa Africa Fund for Extension Education (SAFE) programme and announced a forthcoming visit by the President of the Nippon Foundation, extending an invitation to UCC leadership for a briefing with the Japanese Ambassador.
• Vice-Chancellor Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong reaffirmed UCC’s commitment to impactful research and innovation, highlighting UCC’s top ranking in Ghana and West Africa.
• Prof. Martin Bosompem, Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, shared updates on BSc Agribusiness and SAPs, which train students in entrepreneurship and connect them to the Design Thinking Hub (D-Hub).

The visit reaffirmed both institutions’ commitment to developing sustainable agriculture through education and collaboration.
