School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC, Honours Excellence at Dean’s Award Ceremony
The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) held its annual Dean’s Award Ceremony under the theme “Fostering Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Education: A Necessity in the 21st Century.” The event celebrated 44 outstanding students, faculty, and partner healthcare facilities for their contributions to nursing and midwifery education.
Prof. Jerry Paul Ninnoni, Dean of the School, congratulated awardees and encouraged them to stay committed to excellence. Prof. Georgina Yaa Oduro, Head of Sociology and Anthropology, UCC, delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of empowering nurses and midwives through continuous learning and advocacy.
Partner hospitals, including Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Ewim Polyclinic, and Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital, were honored for their role in student clinical training.
The event was chaired by former Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. John Nelson Buah and former CoDE Provost Prof. Isaac K. Galyuon, with support from MP Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to healthcare infrastructure and support for chronic disease patients.
